The coordinated phrase (联合短语) connects two elements of the same syntactic nature, often with 和 or simply juxtaposition.

- To list nouns: 苹果和香蕉.
- To juxtapose: 大大小小 (big and small), 来来去去 (go and come).

Notes and exceptions
- Simple juxtaposition without conjunction is more frequent in Chinese than in French.
Common mistakes
- 和 connects only elements of the same nature, not propositions.
