These verbs are not interchangeable and depend on the nature of the work.

工作 (gōngzuò) : Professional or remunerated work (an "employment").
找不到工作 (zhǎo bù dào gōngzuò) (Can't find work).
劳动 (láodòng) : Physical, manual work, or noble human activity.
劳动人民 (láodòng rénmín) (Working class).
干活 (gànhuó) : Concrete activity, often small physical tasks.
她整天干活 (tā zhěngtiān gān huó) (She works all day/always busy).
做事 (zuòshì) : More vague term meaning "take care of something" or "have a position".
她在医院做事 (tā zài yīyuàn zuò shì) (She has a position in a hospital).
